Details
In the dystopian future of På armlängds avstånd, journalist Jimmy Olsson navigates a society where culture has been dismantled by budget cuts and political decisions. In this bleak version of Sweden, public television mainly features traditional folk dances and nostalgic songs, reflecting a world devoid of artistic expression and critical thinking. Through his investigative work, Olsson sheds light on the consequences of neglecting cultural institutions and the impact it has on society at large. As he delves deeper into this cultural void, Olsson encounters resistance from authorities who are determined to maintain the status quo. However, his persistence in uncovering the truth leads to startling revelations about the importance of preserving diversity and creativity in a world plagued by conformity and censorship. På armlängds avstånd serves as a cautionary tale about the dangers of apathy towards culture and the power of individuals to challenge oppressive systems through their words and actions.
