Details
In the movie Love is for the Strong (2023–), Cida, a grieving mother, tragically loses her 11-year-old son, Sushi, in an incident of police violence. Edna, on the other hand, is the mother of Digão, the very policeman responsible for the child's death. Both mothers find themselves entangled in a web of corruption and a justice system that seems indifferent to their plea for justice.
Cida and Edna embark on a journey to seek justice for the innocent life that was taken away. As they delve deeper into their investigation, they uncover startling revelations about police corruption that have plagued their community for years. The weight of this knowledge only adds to their determination to bring the guilty parties to justice.
However, it becomes clear that their pursuit of justice will not be easy. The sluggishness and apathy of the justice system further exacerbate the mothers' frustrations. As they navigate the complexities of the legal system, Cida and Edna find themselves torn between their pursuit of justice and the difficult decision of whether to surrender themselves to despair or continue fighting.
Love is for the Strong is a heart-wrenching and thought-provoking film that sheds light on the systemic issues of police violence and corruption. It explores the resilience and strength of these two mothers as they confront an unjust world in their quest for justice for their sons. This gripping film will captivate audiences with its powerful storytelling and profound social commentary.
