Details
Kopps (2003) is a Swedish comedy film that revolves around a small-town police station facing closure due to its lack of crime. Determined to save their beloved station, the underutilized police officers embark on a clever plan to fabricate crimes and boost their crime statistics.
Led by the affable officer Jacob, the team schemes to create imaginary criminals, ranging from a reckless motorcyclist to a lovable Swedish thief. However, their cunning plan takes an unexpected turn when a dynamic duo of real-life robbers, hilarious Elias and his mute partner Harry, arrive in town. Mistaking them for their own fictional criminals, the bumbling police officers hilariously attempt to apprehend the hapless duo.
As chaos ensues, with mix-ups, mistaken identities, and a series of outrageous chases, Kopps delivers side-splitting humor and slapstick comedy.
Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Josef Fares, and featuring a talented cast including Fares himself, the film blends physical comedy with witty dialogue, creating a laugh-out-loud comedic experience. With its charming characters, zany plot, and delightful performances, Kopps offers an entertaining mix of crime and comedy that will leave audiences in stitches.
Don't miss out on this riotous Swedish comedy, where inept cops, hapless criminals, and unpredictable situations combine to create a madcap adventure. Kopps is sure to tickle your funny bone and is the perfect choice for a night of laughter with friends and family.
