Den ena av pojkarna var författaren PO Enquists kusin och händelsen som har påverkat honom starkt har han återkommit till flera gånger, bland annat i romanen Kapten Nemos bibliotek. I dokumentären berättar PO Enquist och hans släktingar om hur barnförväxlingen har påverkat dem.
