Accepted (2006) follows Bartleby Gaines, a high school slacker who is rejected by every college he applies to. Feeling lost and desperate, he devises a unique solution to his problem - he decides to create his own university called the South Harmon Institute of Technology (S.H.I.T) on a neglected piece of property near his hometown.
With the help of his friends, Bartleby creates a fake website, admissions essays, and even a dean to give their institution an air of legitimacy. Much to their surprise, the fake university is not only accepted by unsuspecting students but also gains national attention.
As more and more students join S.H.I.T, Bartleby finds himself balancing the responsibilities of being both a student and a successful university founder. However, their secret is at risk of being exposed when Bartleby's father learns about the unconventional school and threatens to shut it down.
Throughout the movie, Bartleby and his friends learn valuable life lessons about friendship, honesty, and the importance of pursuing one's passion. Accepted is a hilarious and heartwarming comedy that explores the pressures of higher education and the human desire to be accepted for who we truly are.
Starring Justin Long as Bartleby Gaines and featuring a talented ensemble cast, Accepted is an uplifting film that will entertain audiences of all ages. Its witty humor, relatable characters, and inspiring message make it a must-watch for anyone seeking a lighthearted and feel-good movie experience.
